AFter getting knocked out in your first 4 fights, you'd wonder why Lloyd kept climbing back in the ring? He was KO'd in 1 by Sonny Banks in his first career fight, then Lee Batts KO'd him in 6, Rudy Davis stopped Lloyd in the 2nd and then in May 1963 George Chuvalo KO'd Lloyd in the 2nd round. Finally in his next 2 fights Washington was able to last the distance, but still lost both fights, both of them to Dick Wipperman, dropping an 8 and a 6 round decision.
Finally in October 1963 Washington won his first fight, a 4 round decision over Jim O'Connell. After a 5 round loss to Mac Harrison, he then won a 4 round decision over Vic Brown in February 1964. That turned out to be his last career win as he lost fights to Billy Joiner, Mac Harrison, Joe Byrd and Frank Bullard. IN October 1967 after having not fought for almost a year and a half, Washington entered the ring one last time against Jack Rodgers who sported a 23-0-1 record at the time. Rodgers was first a winner on a foul, but that was overuled by the Boxing Commission and the fight was declared a no contest.
