19 wins / 24 losses / 1 draw / 11 KO
Hometown: Mayfield, KY
Birthplace: Washington D.C.

Walter started out 10-0-1,7KO against the usual array of mostly local club fighters like himself, though he did win a 4 round decision over Silent Joe Hill and then KO'd Johnny Haynes after dropping Hill 3 times in the 4th round of fight a week after defeating Hill.
After that good start though, Walter's record came in at only 9-24-0,4KO the rest of the way. During that time though, Walter fought quite a few opponents who we've seen in the game and most fights were against guys who at least exhibited an amount of ring experience. Almost all those fights though, he lost.
He managed 10 round decisions over Tiger Jack Fox, Phil Muscato and Johnny Shkor and a 9th round TKO victory over Jo Weidin. In that fight, Hafer was down twice and behind on points but Weidin suffered an eye cut which "bled profusely", according to The Ring. The losses were numerous including to Freddie Schott, Johnny Haynes, Abel Cestac, Phil Muscato twice, Bernie Reynolds twice, Tommy Gomez, Olle Tandberg, Lee Oma, Ezzard Charles, Jo Weidin, Roland LaStarza, Bob Baker, Embrell Davidson, Clarence Henry, Earl Walls, Eddie Machen and finally in Hafer's last career fight, George Chuvalo KO's him in the 3rd.
