STANDINGS
54-49, 3rd in the AL, 14 games behind KC, 13-12 in July
BAD NEWS
-Andrew is still hurting and will be for a few more weeks. Faulkner will contine to spot start on the day's that Andrew can't go.
-Not one Tiger hitter hit .290 or better for the month of July. Hal Andrew was our top hitter going .286.
GOOD NEWS
-Tiger Allstars: LF Ray Kress, P John Nolting, P Roy Wolfe
-Roy Wolfe (3-3, 2.75) & John Nolting (4-1, 2.31) had a decent month. Just wish we would have given them more run support.
-John Patterson tied Tigers single season saves record. Tied with a retired Lloyd Wyman at 24. Given that we have nearly two months left, that record should be shattered and then some if John can stay healthy.
-Bill Lovely is so close to a promotion. If one of our rotation goes "out" with an injury or is traded, Bill would be a shoe in to see some major league hitters this season.
-Kurt Knox is working with Ormiston to try to earn his promotion to AA before the end of the season and our scouts are telling me Jack Caufield is very close to being AAA material.
ROSTER MOVES
-A healthy Dave Castaneda will go back to starting at SS and hitting leadoff.
-19yo Nasty Camacho has earned the right to stay in the lineup, but he will slide over to 3B and hit at the bottom of the order where he looked much more comfortable earlier in the month during his 13 game hit streak.
-Ben Lutske will go back to his familiar role as a catcher starting against RHP. Adams will continue to start at C vs LHP.
-A healthy Isaac Mitchell will go back to full time starter in RF.
-We don't want to carry 3 catchers so Jolly will most likely be sent down to allow us to call up another OF glove.
