6/10 DET @ CLE: loss 4-10 John Nolting gave up 3R in 5.2IP on another rainy day. The loss went to John Patterson (2-3, 3.96) who gave up 4R in the 7th. Once again, wasting our setup/closer too early in the game. Bryce Ostrander (5-9, 6.48) got the win giving up 4R in 7.1IP. Top CLE hitters were 2B Rob Delcambre (3 for 3, 1R, 4RBI, 1DBL, 1HR, POG), RF Frank Winsett (1 for 4, 1HR), 3B Dave Lemmings (1 for 3, 2R, 1RBI, 2BB, 1HR) & 1B Owen Shankster (2 for 4, 1R, 1BB, 1DBL). For us, Isaac Mitchell went 2 for 4, 1R. Mark Shirley went 2 for 4, 1RBI, 1SB filling in at 2B as Fite has gone against my depth chart AGAIN and moved Perly to SS and leadoff. Then again, Perly seems to be handling SS with a range almost equal to what he's doing at 2B, so maybe it's not such a terrible move (just hope he doesn't end up with a rating of 1 like what happened to him at RF).

6/11 DET @ CLE: loss 1-2 Hal Andrew (6-8, 3.90) got the CG loss giving up just 2R. Rocky Bayne (2-3, 2.85) got the win and POG giving up just 1R in 8.2IP. STANDINGS
33-33, #3 in the AL, 5-9 in the last couple of weeks

BAD NEWS
-Castaneda got hurt again and Fite continues to make strange lineup changes even with the addition of Eric Lundberg. Eric hit .304 when given a chance to start, but Fite continues to defy my depth chart more often than not and over work Perly out of position. I don't see as I have any choice but to promote Nasty Camacho to give Fite another badly needed IF bat.
-We had several bad reports from our trainers and no good ones. Hopefully this is just a fluke as we'd like to see some of our prospects step up and earn promotions. "Nestor Camacho has lost some power" is probably the most ominous of them all. Despite the report he continues to hit very well in AAA so maybe he's just bored and a call up will do him some good. Finley's report was also very disappointing. He went from a decent hitting prospect to barely average. Finley has been up and down so hopefully his bat will rebound as well.
-Hal Andrew (1-3, 5.26), Roy Wolfe (1-2, 4.13) & Magnus George (0-1, 27.01) had a rough couple of weeks.

GOOD NEWS
-Castaneda (.353), Kress (.340, 7RBI, 7BB), Mitchell (.333, 6R) & Lundberg (.304, 5R) all hit well.
-Walter Pond (2-0, 2.73) was our top pitcher for the first half of the month. I've got a AAA pitcher that I may bring up soon. But Pond is making a case for deserving the #4 slot at the moment.
-Kurt Knox is showing improvement and could earn a promotion to AA soon.
