Too me it adds another layer of reality to the game. I also figure I already have an advantage over the AI any way and this is a way to give some of that back.
I like it when I think I have a safe lead and am only warming up my "mop up" guy. Then my starter maybe walks a guy, hits the next, and then a 3 run jack and on top of that he becomes tired. Now my lead is only one or two but because things went to pot so quickly all I have is the mop-up guy to go to. Things like this could end up costing you a game or two over the course of a season and perhaps a division title. And to me at least this is more fun even though a game may get away that I should have won.
