ORPHANS: This finds those 'missing' players. They are usually players that retired with no team, or retired while never making it to the majors. Mostly the 'crap' players. But, surprisingly, there are sometimes some #1 and #2 draft picks like this. I found one guy that had thrown a no-hitter in a September call up and never made it back to the majors. Quietly went away while toiling in the minors.
I've just posted a inquiry in Unique Images... about how to preserve player pics after renaming for "life" so to speak. Now this quote has me wondering how I might go back into those orphaned players and recover their photos for future use in the league. It's starting to sound a bit sci-fi like isn't it? Pardon me, can I borrow your faces? I have a draft to conduct.

In any event, this portion of your utility may enable me to more quicky ID those types of players. You know the code. Do you have any idea what happens to, let's say, 50-60 FA that I might choose to delete from the FA pool because I don't think they'll ever be of interest to anyone? Do all their records, i.e. player ID, photo, histories, etc... vanish into the night as if they never existed?
