The only thing I can suggest next is to look at the game-by-game results for one team and see if it adds up to 154 games or something less. If you see great stretches where the team has no games, then you know something's gone wrong.
If not, then that means the games are there but their results weren't calculated for some reason. That can happen on a day with a messed up All-Star Game, but that only ever affects that one day's worth of games.
