Maybe that's why Laszlo Szabo-Nagy never did too well. People kept him down out of jealousy! In RL, he was the head of the Communist Hungarian version of the KGB. He even spent a couple years in jail in the 60's after attempting a coup. Someday I'd like to get his story down. It would make a great movie.
On the USSR note, everyone I've known who had family come over from the former USSR always identified with the individual country: Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, etc.... That's basically why it broke up.
