Heh, you should take a look at the real schedules used by the South Atlantic League and Southern League minor leagues, they're every bit as weird. The Eastern League has also, starting this year, switched from using a proper symmetrical divisionally weighted schedule into using a uneven mess.
Of course, the schedules used in the majors since 1998 haven't been all that much better either.
