This can be fixed in the game. If you start with 162 games in the league then simply import or copy in a 154-game schedule, the game does still think that the season is 162 games. But if on the Edit Schedule screen you generate a 154-game schedule in the game, the game will learn the new length for the league season. Then you can just replace that with an imported or otherwise generated schedule and the magic numbers and projections will be correctly calculated.
