Chicago 57 97 .370 50.0
Washington 53 101 .344 54.0

BAD NEWS
-Finished 3rd in the AL.
-John Nolting finished 11-12... well below what we expected from our new Ace when we traded for him. We gave up a promising young SP prospect to get him so that adds insult to injury as we look to rebuild in the next few seasons.
-Other than our closer John Patterson, our bullpen got beat up pretty bad for most of the year. Our starters had bouts of inconsistency as well, but the ERA & WHIP numbers of our bull pen were flat out bad.

GOOD NEWS
-On 9/26 David Castaneda was named Player of the Week for hitting .550, 3HR, 6RBI.
-Ray Kress looked healthy in that final game and should be refreshed / ready to go next spring training.
-John Patterson looked comfortable moving up to the closer role. Now if he can just stay healthy, he should be a very good one for many years go come.
-Hal Andrew had an up and down year, but finished as our best starter going 20-11, 3.60. Roy Wolfe wasn't too far behind going 18-14, 3.69.
-Dennis Kitterman claims this is his last season despite having one of the best seasons of his career. He finished the season hitting .339 w/ 94R. His career total: .319, 1981 H, 1108 R, 787 RBI, 119 HR, 101 SB, 770 BB, 223 DBL, 95 TRPL, 3 allstar appearances, 5 World Series wins. I'm a bit surprised at no gold gloves - like Ray Kress, Dennis has one of the most reliable gloves at his position.
