9/15 day off

STANDINGS
84-61, #3 in the AL, 18 games behind the Yanks, 8-5 in the last couple of weeks.

BAD NEWS
-Rollin Fish was injured and looks to be out for the remainder of the season.
-Most of our team hit well so far this month, but Mitchell (.233) and Fish (.211) were not so hot.
-Nolting got roughed up this month going 0-2, 6.17.

GOOD NEWS
-Andrew (1-0, 1.76) and Wolfe (2-1, 2.42) pitched well.
-Kitterman (.435, 12R), Perly (.388, 4HR, 18RBI), Degal (.366, 4HR, 14R), Kreitenberg (.345, 11R) & Shirley (.308) were all hot.
-There was no mention in the box scores, but Mike Kreitenberg is on a healthy hitting streak. He's for sure hit in all of his last 10 games. I'm not sure how much further back his hit streak goes. He's hitting .351 at this point in the season and is dominating the AL in SB despite only being a starter and hitting leadoff for a couple of months.

PLAYER MOVES
-Ray Kress will be activated from the DL although we are not yet sure if he'll be able to play in the final week or not.
-We've offered a major league contract to Walter "Cool Water" Pond. We are looking to reload next year and if we end up trading a SP or two away for prospects then Pond could find him self back into the rotation next year assuming he doesn't retire.
-Unfortunately, we forgot to take Ormiston off the DFA, he refused assignment and had to be released. I should have put him back on the roster when the roster expanded in September so he could finish out the year on our bench rather than sitting in limbo as a free agent. Ormiston's talent plummet was shocking and very hard to watch, but we'll remember him more for his clutch hitting. He was definitely a key piece to the Tiger puzzle for the last several years.
