7/12 ALLSTAR GAME: loss 4-14 We only had three all stars this year. Kreitenberg evidently didn't qualify and Mitchell was out with an injury, other wise both deserved a spot. Dirtbag Degal started at C and went 0 for 3. Jim Coleman got in late in the game at 3B and went 0 for 1. Dennis Kitterman had a PH sac fly for an RBI. Very nice that Kitt made it to this all star and contributed as he plans to retire at the end of the year.

7/15 DET @ CLE: WIN 6-4 Hal Andrew (13-9, 3.95) got the win giving up 4R in 8IP. John Pattterson came in for a save op, but left after 3 pitches. STANDINGS
50-38, #3 in the AL, 12 games behind the Yanks, 7-3 in the last 10

BAD NEWS
-Kress is down for most and possibly all of the remainder of the season. If he's out for the durations, his 8HR will be his lowest total by far since '44.
-Our young closer John Patterson is also out for about 6 weeks.
-Perly continues to struggle hitting .161 for the month so far... actually most of our bats were too quiet this month. Kress and Kreit were our only starters hitting above .300. No one hit for more than 1HR so far this month.

GOOD NEWS
-Andrew (3-0, 3.00), Wolfe (1-0, 1.59), Ulrich (1-1, 1.06), Nolting (1-1, 2.78) all pitched well
-Kreitenberg (.472, 9R), Kress (.333, 8BB) both hit well.
-Coleman, Degal, Kitterman made this years all star team. Degal started.

ROSTER MOVES
-Closer: I'm not sure who I'm going to put here yet. I may have to put George here with Faulkner stepping into the primary setup roll.
-LF: Cano will probably move here for his defense with Short getting some games in as well.
-RF: Both Fite and Killbreath would play Perly in CF when ever the chips hit the fan. RF should be a piece of cake in comparison. Hopefully Mitchell will get heathy soon. I really don't have anyone in the minors worth bringing up yet and there are almost no OF worth grabbing in the free agent pool. Trade offers have not been favorable lately.
