The 5 runs by Ryan ties a Ray Kress record... actually Kress did it a couple of times IIRC. Unfortunately the way things are recorded, ties go to the guy to did it last, so we Tiger faithful will just have to remember that Kress has a part of that record even if its not listed on the AL records page any more.

STANDINGS
38-28, #3 in the AL, 6 games behind NY, 8-7 in the last couple of weeks
BAD NEWS
-We had a chance to make up some ground but then were swept by the Yanks in our last three games.
-Again, our pitching staff has plagued with inconsistency. Ulrich was the worst 0-2, 7.07. Yuck.
-Castaneda is struggling again... .191 in June so far. .259 OBP from our lead of man isn't going to cut it.
-Zero HRs from Ray Kress... on a positive note, he did hit for a nice average.
GOOD NEWS
-John Nolting is back from the injured list. He pitched a shutout in his first game back.
-On 6/6 John Degal was named Player of the Week for hitting .433, 4HR 9RBI.
-Mitchell (.420), Kreitenberg (.413), Kitterman (.386), Degal (.383, 6HR), Kress (.350), Faulkner (.333) hit well.
ROSTER CHANGE?
-I haven't decided for sure, but I'm seriously considering giving Kreitenberg the starting spot at SS. It weakens us defensively some when it comes to backing up 2B and 1B, but Kreit deserves to start somewhere. Also, Castaneda has been too inconsistent and isn't the defensive stud that he used to be.
