It was hard to the team to ignore that .341 average and 42 RBI in AAA Sacramento. Good for him and the team. Hopefully this will help turn things around. The roster spot will likely be cleared by putting Erubiel Durazo on the DL.

Johnson started off really slowly this year, so that was a very good turnaround. I imagine he is batting 400+ over the past 20 games as he started off at about 250 for the first 10 games.

He is big and strong and a very good athlete, according to b-a. He also has a loopy, long swing, and despite being chiseled, has no power -- 6 HRs in a hitters park with a metal bat does not a power hitting 1b make.
I’d be surprised if the A’s took him, but there is talk that if he lasts (and he might) the Red Sox may take him, so anything is possible.
