Help with player creation, aging, development modifiers
I've stepped away from OOTP for about 8 months (my longest departure after three years of constant OOTPing), and only now am getting back into the swing with 6.12. I've never messed with these variables, but would like to engineer better results. After reading through several threads on these topics, including SkyDog's league setup suggestion, I'm still a little lost and would appreciate some help.
Player Creation
Does entering a value into a category increase all created platers talent by that %, or does it increase the range of talent by that %?
IOW, if no modifier was input, the AI would generate a player with talent x on a range of 1 to 100. With a modifier of 5%, would the AI now generating that same player with talent 1.05x, or is it only that the range of talent is now 1 to 105?
Aging and Development
Development now has default values of 100. If I want players to develop 5% faster than they do currently, do I input 105 or 5? From what I've read up through the release of 6.12 (mainly posts in Aug-Oct 2004), the answer is 5. However, that doesn't seem to make sense if the default is 100.
For aging, the default value is 0. Everything I've read says that entering in a value of 5 would increase aging by 5%. I haven't read anything to the contrary--please confirm.
