Some issues I see with version 6.12
I am using WindowsXP Professional. To prevent a possible (and unnecessary) argument, I am NOT running with a patched operating system. Security-wise, not the smartest thing, game-wise, it has not bearing whatsoever on these issues. In a nutshell, patching my XP installation wouldn't make these issues go away:
- scoreboard not showing anything in games
- minor league affiliations reversed (A instead of AAA) in statistics
- when setting the sound on during game it causes the game to crash (stupid Windows box comes up asking if I would like to report the error)
- this one is TOO obvious, IMO. when you're playing in PBP mode, if you press 1 twice and quickly (to advance the gameplay) it is an extremely high probability that the pitch-count will run to 3-2. Not realistic. I've not run any tests on this, but it happens very frequently and I bet that it's more than 90% of the time.
- when there is a foul there is an extremely high chance that there will be an ensuing "foul fest".
- way too many strikeouts during bunts
- way too many runners advancing successfully, when the game asks if you would like to advance the runner
- in the league setup, if you click the button to turn off financials, it doesn't work (not for me, anyway)
As you can see, most of the stuff I spot is during gameplay. I'm really more of a manager kind of guy, but choose to control the minors, too, since the game has poorly implemented AI that makes very bad decisions in moving players up and down between the big leagues and the minors. That said, the game is still a lot of fun (except for the game crash I just suffered when I turned the sound on during the game).
