More pre-draft deals before the recap:

We sent our top-rated prospect SS Casey Wabash and our 3rd round pick (60th) to Virginia for Virginia's 2nd rounder (#29), 3rd Rounder (#53) and SP Oscar Meryman.

While we hate to lose Wabash, he was 24 and still struggling in Single-A (sub .650 OPS). The picks will help us get depth for when our current folks retire. Meryman is in a similar boat to Wabash. Not nearly the potential,but at 23 he's facing a make-or-break year.

We also send our 2nd rated prospect, Alfonzo Saguaro to Minnesota for the 14th pick. Again, we hate to lose Saguaro, but past management brought him up early and stalled his development. He only had 2 Stuff (with 7 potential) at age 23, having been in the minors for 4 seasons.
