The GMC Is Expanding - Looking for 4 Good Owners

The Global Manager's Challenge (GMC) is expanding.

We are currently in our 8th season and, for the for the start of the 1991 season, we will be expanding from 20 teams to 24.

We use the OOTP4 and the Lahman database to import real-life rookies.

This is not a league for the faint of heart. The GMC enjoys an 85-90% participation record season in and season out, and the owners are some of the savviest in terms of trades. OOTP legends like Wedge, Parker, Reynolds, Shaffer, Feurst and Miskowski, to name a few, are part of the league.

The league is highly competitive and while it does boast several very, very good teams (Moscow, Eric Wedge's team, is the 3-time defending GMC champ, and while Unionville is a regular season killer, it is also the home-town of the October Curse), there is tons of room for expansion franchises to shine 3-4 years down the road. Being able to draft such studs as Frank Thomas, Pedro Martinez, etc., means that you can enjoy the players you watched - or are still watching, today.

What we are looking for are owners with a long-term vision, willing to tough it out for a few seasons before their team is competitive. While the expansion rules are fairly decent - existing teams protect 15 players aged 27 or older, expansion franchises will suck for many, many years. What is needed then are owners who are willing to stick around and thrive on the challenge of building a winner from the ground up, and against the top-notch competition that the GMC provides.

Four (4) expansion franchises will start the 1991 season.
