I backup before every sim, its a simple one line batch command and produces files that are between 3 to 7 MBs depending upon the time of the season. I save these files aside as rolling backups all season long and then at the completion of a successful season will save the end of season file as my archive.

Strongly advise anyone to do the same if you don't want to lose all your work and data.
