Opening at Historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham

The Birmingham Barons need a new owner!

The ELSA has had an opening pop up as we plow through the 1947 regular season. The league layout mimics the old Eastern League and Southern Association minor leagues of the 1940's. Visit us at http://www.theelsa.com/
The players are fictional and the salary structure is highly experimental, but proving to be successful. The minimum salary is 50K and the market is being shaped by human factors and the way they value certain players.
The Birmingham team was taken over at the end of the 1945 season and piloted until the most recent offseason. They need to shed some salary in order to become financially viable again. This is the 3rd season of online play/GM control for the ELSA. We document everything meticulously on our website and using our catobase. There is a season preview (includes team history and top returning players) for the Barons at http://www.theelsa.com/simhistory.htm

Birmingham currently sits tied with New Orleans for first in the Southern Association at 16-11. The top two teams in each league make the playoffs. The Barons currently have a $40.4M payroll and revenues are estimated at just under $37M. They are one of the larger market teams in the Southern Association portion of the league. This squad and this league presents a challenge to an experienced OOTP5 player. Their minor league system is 14th out of 16, featuring recent first round draft pick Christopher Charlebois. The Barons play their homegames at Historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham.

If you are from Alabama, this presents a unique opportunity to run the hometown team of yesteryear.
