Could it be because their payroll is so much more than every other team's payroll every single year?
When you are in the position the Angels were in, hard work becomes the major deciding factor in defeating the team with better players (aka Yankees). You admitted in another thread that money puts the best players on the field. To overcome this advantage, the other team needs to work harder. I give a ton of credit to the Angels.
