Owners making trades ect...on the team through the commish. I didn't consider them doing it themselves because if they did....that's an entirely different problem.

The guys with the 0's aren't just the guys who were generated in the pre-season (as opposed to off-season automatically)....I'll summarize below our findings and the proof we have that supports what we believe the problem is.

Zorphyr...our team that had thier FTP import work correctly:

a. Had guys with 0's on their team. Probably free agents, rookies and traded guys. (legally through the commissioner) The fact that this team's export worked shows that the 0's are a minor glitch, but not what is causing the export to not work.

b. Had no guys that were generated using the "create new player" button in "edit free agents".

All the other teams that did not work (ftp export) had players that were generated using that "create player" button.

All owner moves in the league were made legally through the commissioner...in the commissioner's copy of the game.

OOTP supports both FTP exporting of ST settings and generating new players in pre-season (or any time for that matter). We generated our new players before the ammy draft...to make enough to cover 8 rounds. This is what made the files not import....not operator headspace....not a 3rd party program....and not HornsManiac downloading the file at work and then uploading it at home and downloading it again at his sister's house.

Edited in: I just read the second part of your reply after cooling down after getting a bit angry over the first part. I didn't realize you agreed that is what the problem is, ultimately. Its true that we know how to avoid the problem, but not everyone knows unless they come searching here for answers....and even then they'll just see the ramblings of a guy with "I fling poo" as his avatar. The game should support creating players and then still work...because some people just like to create players here and there. Its a bug...we found it...but I'm frustrated at my inability to convey the facts to everyone.
