Richardson was 6-0-0 when he fought Billy Hardacre for the British (Central Area) Featherweight Title in Sept 1972, loosing a 10 round decision to Hardacre. Those two fought a rematch for that title in February 1973 with Hardacre once again taking the 10 round decision. Richardson then fought Hardacre a third time in May 1973 for the Central Area British FW Title, this time winning with a 10 round decision. BoxRec indicates this fight was also an eliminator bout for the British Featherweight Title. Later though in December 1973 BoxRec shows Richardson fighting Barry Harris for what is indicated as the vacant British Central Area Featherweight Title? Richardson wins by 3rd round TKO. After beating Hardacre in May for this title, Richardson apparently vacated it?

In July 1974, Richardson was stopped in the 11th round by Evan Armstrong in a bout for the British and Commonwealth Featherweight Titles.

In March 1977, Richarson wins the British FW Title stopping Vernon Solias in the 8th round. Richardson then looses by 12th round TKO to Eddie Ndukwu in June 1977 for the Commonwealth FW title. In October that same year he defeats Les Picket by 15 round decision for the British FW title.

Richardson and Ndukwu fight again in December 1977 for the Commonwealth title with Ndukwu stopping Richardson again, this time in the 8th round.

In April 1978, Dave Needham defeats Richardson in a bid by Richarson to regain the British FW Title, loosing a 15 round decision. Richardson's last career fight comes in October 1978 against Les Pickett in an eliminator bout for the British FW title. Pickett wins the 10 round decision.
