I have decided to open up my new solo league to board members.
You can never have enough of these types of leagues
Here is the thread to follow my league.
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ad.php?t=94956
Once you sign up you will be added to the next first year draft. In this case 1986.
To keep the same members from having all of the created players, I am going to limit created players to 5 per year. You are also limited to having three players in the league at the same time. Once one leaves the league, you are allowed to have another player in the leage.
I am going to use a random number generator to assing you a star rating.
To give everyone a fair shot at being in the majors, I am going to have a mininum of two stars. Each star rating will be weighed and 5 stars will be somewhat rare.
Created players do not have to be real in any sense. You may use yourself or friends or make them completly fictional.
I just ask that you use no real baseball players or celeberties of any sort.
Here is the signup format.
First Name:
Last Name:
Age of draft entry:
Birthdate:
Position
Alternate positions:
Nickname (optional):
Height:
Weight:
Country and City of Origin:
Make age of draft entry between 16-22
Please note. If you select a 16 year old player he will have extremly low starting ratings but will have alot of years to grow. A 22 year old player will be well along the development path but will not chance a chance for many talent increases.
Keep alternate positions realistic, the more you add the worse I will make your skill in those posistions
Type of player (See explanation below):
Here are the basic types of players that I will create. I will add points until you hit your star rating
HITTER TYPES
Overall player - Well rounded 5 tool player, no weakness and no strength
Power hitter - Awesome power and gap power, decent contact and bad eye. Poor defense and speed
Natural hitter - Excellent contact and gap power. Poor power. Strikes out alot and average eye. Average defense and poor speed.
Patient hitter - Below average power hitter, slightly above average contact hitter. Good eye and does not strike out.
Hustling player - Good defensive player and good speed. Weak with the stick. Good intangibles.
Defensive wizard - Excellent defense with good speed. Cannon arm. Average contact. Way below average in power and slightly below average in eye.
Stolen Base Artist - No power. Average eye. Slightly above average contact. Excellent bunter. Excellent speed and stealing rating.
Pitcher Types
Well rounded pitcher - Average in all reguards.
Power pitcher - Excellent stuff and velocity. Poor control and average movment.
Finese pitcher - Poor velocity and below average stuff. Good control and movement. Defensive bonus
Command pitcher - Good velocity and excellent control. Poor movement and average stuff.
Breaking ball pitcher - Very low velocity. Below average stuff. Average control and excellent movment.
Workhorse - Same as 'well rounded pitcher' takes a small hit in every area but gets a huge endurance bonus.
So there you are. Some more refinements might be added later. Have fun.
