Dammit Mal, that's just not fair. Now you know I've not slung a single insult at you, and I'm not taking sides here. But I think that HR raised an excellent point. Why not address it? If you're going to use Bill James as the argument ender in favor of Cox, then I think it's only fair that you address the fact that James feels baseball today is better than it ever was.
I and everyone else here know how you feel about that issue. Heck, I even agree with you on that point. So is James right about Bobby Cox and wrong about the state of baseball?
And if he's wrong about the state of baseball, couldn't he JUST POSSIBLY be wrong about Bobby Cox? He is only human, after all.
Please tell me what I'm missing here.
