There's a newer version which is going to be out sometime this year, at least that's what's been mentioned on the SABR listserv.

The thing is, neither has much in the way of detailed individual player stats beyond the league leaders. If you want lots of individual player stats, you have to look for books dedicated to the individual league, which can be quite good, but are generally limited to only a few decades of coverage.

I'd still prefer to see a full-blown player database...
