Dear Roy,

I was thrilled when I came downstairs for breakfast this morning, and my daugher Elizabeth called out to me, "Daddy! Roy Hitt won yesterday!" As you can see, your pursuit of your 300th victory was followed with a great deal of interest in my household, and we were all rooting for you to achieve it quickly.

Sarah, as well as the three young O'Farrells who are old enough to understand your accomplishment, join me in offering my heartiest congratulations. I have the greatest respect for you as a player and as a gentleman, and the experiences I had as a member of your All-Americans traveling team will always be among the most treasured of my career.

Once again, my cap is off to you on the occasion of your milestone victory. I hope there are many more in your future, Roy.

Sincerely,
Pat O'Farrell
