The most important factor to consider, in my VERY humble opinion, is that a story is designed to entertain.
All else is secondary. If people don't enjoy reading the story, then they won't read it. Period. If you keep this in mind, then its all good.
The basic premise of your story can be anything. I have considered writing from the perspective of a clubhouse manager, from a batboy, or from one of the front office folk, owner, GM, skipper, even a pitching coach.
A dynasty from an agents perspective might be entertaining as well...but I'm not sure I can stoop that low!
