Well, I know I'm the odd one out here, but I'm going to go against popular opinion and say that I'm not terribly crazy about it. It would be a great logo to use if the name of the team were the "Ray Sharks," but this concept just doesn't work for me.
I can appreciate the fact that you were trying to go a different route than the obvious sun idea, but in this particular case, I tend to believe that maybe the obvious idea actually would have been the
best idea. You say that the name "Sunrays" relates to "Devil Rays," which may be true, but their
meanings are completely different. Whereas the Tampa Bay Devil Rays represent an
animal, the name "Sunrays" was chosen to represent the wine industry in and around the San Jose area, with the sun being the central focus (since that is one of the main factors in the production of the wine).
You have some real talent, I just don't think this particular logo really showcases it.
