Meyer Wins Rubber Match
February 25th, 1907
Billy Meyer (21-3-3) won via KO12 over #2 George Lavigne (18-8-1) in their 3rd match to retain the LBC lightweight title.
Meyer completely dominated the fight from the opening bell. Through 11 rounds I had only given one round to Lavigne.
Meyer knocked Lavigne down in the 4th. Caused Lavigne's right eye to swell in the 4th, then knocked him down for good in the 12th.
On the undercard
BW - Jimmy Walsh (4-5-3) TKO2 Joe Wagner (9-6) (walsh off to a pathetic start of his career)
HW - Larry Foley (16-5-2) UD10 Paddy Ryan (7-5-2)
HW- Ed Dunkhorst (16-12-2) TKO8 Jack Burns (10-2)
BW - Dennis McFadden (6-7-1) UD10 Tommy Feltz (10-12)
