Siciliano was great at winning against guys wearing contact lenses and boxers named Miguel Ortiz. Joe opened his short career with a four round decision over Ortiz followed by a one-round thrashing by Peter McNeeley. This start was enough to "catapult" Joe to a Central Massachusetts Heavyweight Title Fight against Robert Pooler who was disqualified for wearing contact lenses in the ring. Joe succesfuly defended his back yard belt against Ortiz then suffered two first round stoppages in 2001. Unable to locate more opponents named Ortiz or foolish enough to forget about their contact lenses, Siciliano decided to hang 'em up.
