Which only emphasises the fact that he was the most valuable out of the bunch. OPS weighs walks and home run hitting...two things that aren't in Ichiro's job description. He wears out pitchers and rarely walks or strikes out. His game is all about contact and making something happen. Comparing him to Giambi or Hunter in one statistical category isn't going to change that he was the player of the game more often than not in a season where his team won 116 games.
