Probably a dumb CatoBase question....

I'm a newbie at this. It took me forever to even figure out how to generate the .csv files for the stat import.

I clicked on "Import Stats" and got an error that said:
Quote:
There is a problem importing around line 82 in the file \players.csv.

The most likely cause is an invalid character in the HomeState or Nickname fields.

Open this file in Notepad and uncheck WordWrap. Examine the above line and surrounding lines for any unusual characters and import again.
I found a number of weird characters that occur in OOTP when the nickname or hometown is too long. I went through the file and edited out every one of them, saved it, then went back and tried to import again.

Same Result

I reopened the file and none of my edits had stuck. The weird characters were still there.

I tried again and the file still wouldn't edit.

I tried to edit it in Excel. Same damn problem

Perhaps this is a Notepad issue, but I can't figure out why I can't edit it. It seems like such a simple fix.

Please help.
