Mediocre offense? This is a team that was 2nd in the NL in runs scored two seasons ago and maintains exactly the same core, plus Negro League rookie Moses Bottoms at leadoff. And note who's in first in runs scored league-wide after 2 weeks!
Sure, we won't hit .326 and lead the league in homers all season, but I bet we finish in the top half of the league in runs scored.
Add to that the fact that Martin Gwaltney's got a sub-2.00 ERA in 3 starts and his movement went up last sim from 6 to 7, and maybe even the rotation won't be mediocre.
Yeah, I'm probably being overoptimistic. Someone in Pittsburgh has to be.
