Game One

The first game of this ALDS turned out to be a pitcher's duel, a scoreless game into the seventh inning. SS Bobby Crosby changed all that by jacking a two-run shot, chasing Jaret Wright and bringing in Colter Bean.

The Yankees answered in the bottom frame, with a leadoff walk for Rodriguez and a rapid succession of singles that chased Zito and put the home team up 3-2. Bean pitched the 8th and Rivera finished the 9th, but not without a runners-on-the-corners-two-outs scare. Player of the game: Jaret Wright (despite not getting the win). Yankees lead the series, 1-0.
