I don't see anyone misinterpreting your words. It's just that nobody agrees with what you're saying. Yes, I understand what you meant when you said he was a .300 hitter. And I understand that hitting over .300 is a good accomplishment, hence your categorization. And I understand that you know that there's a huge difference between a .300 hitter and a .340 hitter. The funny thing is that you continue to defend your statement that Ichiro is a .300 hitter, and every time somebody disagrees with you, you get all defensive. That's like me saying that Todd Hundley (career ba: .235) is a career Mendoza-Line hitter. Does he hit over the Mendoza Line? Yes! But does that mean I should categorize him as a career Mendoza-Line hitter? Nope. Me calling him that would do him a disservice because people would automatically assume he hits closer to .200. Likewise, calling Ichiro a .300 hitter would inherently make people assume Ichiro hits close to .300, when in actuality he hits much higher than that. See what I'm getting at?
