ok people are still gettin confused here.
i said the guy is a .300 hitter. i then said, "maybe i should have said a HIGH .300 hitter." so i corrected my mistake.
i NEVER said batting .340 is equivalent to someone who bats .302. NEVER. I said that both are .300 hitters.
a .300 hitter is considered a great hitter in baseball. nothing more, nothing less. he is a .300 hitter. right?
Ichiro hits .300....Ichiro hits a high .300. i think thats fair.
I would never compare Ichiro to Polanco. They may be both .300 hitters this season, but Ichiro is batting a high .300 and Polanco is at the borderline.
I know the difference. You all are misinterpreting my words.
LOL at the accountant joke. I hate accounting. But its kool. You are just misinterpreting my meaning. i'll keep tryin to explain. just remember i'm not sayin .340 is equivalent to .302...i'm just saying that a guy who hits .340 is a .300 hitter. thats it.
when you look at stats and think, is this guy good or not, dont you think...."is he a .300 type hitter? can he hit about 40 homeruns? can he drive in 100 RBI? can he score over 80 runs? can he steal 30 bases? does he walk more than he strikes out? ya know?
sayin that Manny is a century mark RBI man is not a disservice. Its a fact. he will drive in 100 RBI every season. Yes its more around 120 but the fact is that he will drive in 100 RBI.
Ichiro is a .300 hitter. I'm not sayin he hits exactly .300...i'm sayin that he will hit .300 no matter what. he might be better than exactly .300 but atleast you know he'll be over .300 b/c thats what he is - a .300 hitter.
hopefully you understand now. i really didnt want to elaborate so so so much, but i guess i had to since everyone wants to jump in everyone's face so quickly here.
