However, arbitration doesn't work that way. It's basically a process of looking for most similar players and their contracts in the market. For that purpose, you'd probably come up with Randy Johnson. Now you don't really see the Clemens number as outrageous, since it's only as far from the value arbitrators will see as the Astros number.
