It means the pitcher was named player of the game. If you go to the player's game logs, it denotes what it means.

Boxscore spacing

This has been an issue back to OOTP 22. When a pitcher has an ERA above 9.99, there will be some extra spacing in the boxscore after their pitching line. Comes into play a lot early in the season...

I ran into this as well. It will need to be adjusted but there is a small area where you can click to change the series viewed. The line just below the team names. At least that worked for me.
