How about a Win/Mac utility that you could use to create/import new players, edit current ones? That way you don't have to worry so much about iPad limitations on memory or getting something approved...

Sometimes it takes a while. Sometimes I get to play for an hour, sometimes for only a few minutes. Resetting the iPad does help reduce the number of crashes but it does not seem to eliminate them.

Yup, I did try that. It was saved in the offseason, just before arbitration, and I couldn't make more than 3 or 4 contract offers and it would crash.
