What does VSL stand for?

What is the VSL stand for, where it says Career VSL and Season VSL. Can't find what it stands for. I basically get what it is representing I think.

Is there a way to set up a fictional league starting in 1871 with real teams and then letting it evolve? Like a historical league with fictional players and evolves and the years progress.

Serious ratings drop on Nov 4th?

Ok on Nov 4th of my current game I'm playing I had 2 pitchers that their ratings dropped from 4.5 stars to 0.5 stars? Any idea what might have happened there, seems like quite a extreme drop.
