The draft. With financials on the players get contracts based on service time and other factors. After drafting a team an owner will lay out the financials for the rest of the season.

Using iExplorer I can save custom logos to the saved game\game.lg\etc... folder. However I can't save to \iOOTP 2013\iOOTP2013.app\iOOTPData\logos folder. That would be preferable so I wouldn't have...

Have you made any changes to the league structure after creation? Go to league options menu, generate schedule button and generate a new schedule and see what happens. You have to be in the preseason...
