I have 3 games left in the regular season.
Have 23 players up.
Have 50/50 contracts.
Can't release anyone
No players on the IR I can bring back
Totally stuck with...

I have 50/50 contracts, so I can't sign anyone or release any one.
The players on my IR are indefinite, so I can't even move them to the team.

Expanding the NHL

Hello,
If you are expanding the league, do you have to go through a season unemployed and then check the Commissioner Mode box before you can create a new team?

Do I have to assume a position as a GM/Coach of an NHL team in order to expand the league? I went through the 2017-2018 season unemployed and on July 1, I was not able to expand the league.

I bought FHM4 the day it was available and love it! But I want to expand the NHL and want to be the GM/Coach of the expansion team. But I am not sure how to do that. Can someone please help?
