I always save a copy of my .lg directory after I have everything set the way I want so that it is easy to reveet back if needed.

Actually, the easiest way is to NOT check commissioner-mode, and just go into vacation-mode. That way you don't get any weirdness from simming while in commissioner-mode. YMMV. :p
