That's for sure. I actually prefer the 20-80 way...the middle rating of 50 covers the midpoint exactly (92-108), while the 2-8 scale is oddly shifted towards the high end. 198 points to get an 8...

One way to run a hidden ratings/potentials league would be to have the draft pool fed by feeder leagues, so you'd at least have a few years worth of stats to go by. Not sure how well that method...
