Question Starting the game with a draft

I am about to play my first game of OOTP. Can anybody tell me how long it takes to conduct a draft to start the game, how the draft works, and if you can save and exit during the draft.

I waited four and a half hours for the game to download, oly for it to quit at 75% complete. Tried later in the day and it downloaded in 40 min.
