Sometimes, when a player develops differently in OOTP than in MLB, I will give them a random name to clear up any biases I might have. But when using the random name generator, it does not chnge nick...

When he comes back, put him on a rehab assignment. If he has options left, keep him in the minors for an extended period of time (months). See if he improves and regains his confidence.
