About Bat Flip Baseball

"BFB" has been going for about 5 years, with many original GMs still involved. We started in-game with the 2020 season and have progressed to the end of the 2045 season. We proudly have robust participation, with high export rates overall. We model the league after real-life MLB rules (i.e. no draft pick trading, small markets are eligible for competitive balance picks, and other rules.). We sim Monday-Friday during the regular season and seven days a week in the off-season. Each sim usually runs 7 days. We use Slack and Stats+, but not Discord.

Please feel free to read our League Charter for a more complete picture.

If you have (or intend to purchase) OOTP 26, and want to join a mature and involved league, then we might be the right fit! We are happy to have first-time online players.

The open teams are:

Ready to compete now:

Philadelphia Phillies: The Phillies went 87-75 last season, claiming the final Wild Card spot in the National League. Their rotation is anchored by a 22 year old who just posted a 7.2 WAR season. The Phillies have strong market and fan metrics, middle-tier revenue, and the 3nd overall farm system, highlighted by the 5th overall prospect, a starting pitcher who should be ready early in the coming season. They will be in the mix for a playoff berth this season, with a good future.

Washington Nationals: The second NL East team available is the Washington Nationals. The Nationals went 92-70 last season. They won the Wild Card and Division Series, and took the eventual World Series Champion Marlins to 7 games. Their market and fan metrics are also very solid. Their farm system is middle-of-the-pack, at 13th overall, but they have 6 prospects in the top 100, all of whom are ready now or will be ready in a year or two. The Nationals will also be in the mix for a playoff berth right away, and are set up for future success.

Need more of a rebuild:

Arizona Diamondbacks: The Diamondbacks went 67-95 and have the 5th best lottery odds for the upcoming draft. The Arizona GM will have to navigate the second-lowest budget ($136m) and the 24th ranked farm system. The Diamondbacks' market and fan metrics are also below average. I am offering a first round comp pick in the upcoming draft, the right to amnesty (cancel) one contract after the GM completes their first season, and a $20m infusion of cash specifically to boost the team's development and scouting budget in Year 1.

Boston Red Sox: The Red Sox went 78-84 last season. They have the 11th overall farm system, highlighted by the 2nd overall prospect, a 40/80 player who is on track to be a on-base and doubles machine. The Red Sox are set up to be major players in next year's free agent pool, and certainly have enough free budget to take on bad contracts for future assets, if the GM can swing such a deal.

New York Mets: The Mets are the highest budget team in BFB! They will have well over $100,000,000 to work with next year. They went 76-86 last year. However, they have a decent core and plenty of money they can use to add to it. Unfortunately, their farm system is ranked 29th overall.
