NHL Waiver Rules Not In Effect
In the real life NHL, once a player has cleared waivers and been assigned to an affiliate, they can be recalled from the AHL and don't need to clear waivers again for 30 days, or 10 games - whichever comes first.
In FHM 11, it seems like a player who is recalled after clearing waivers has to immediately clear waivers again, no matter how long they've been on the NHL team. |

I agree, this would be nice if implemented! |
This and the no movement clause that attaches to any waiver claim for the whole year really needs to be fixed. I get you can turn it off but a user shouldn't have to. We saw the Lavoie waiver ordeal this year and that cannot happen in this game due to all the ways waiver rules don't match real life.
As an NHL licensed game, I really wish they would put the time into fixing this. |
this is why is use commissioner mode, to get around these issues

That works for my team, but not for the rest in my league. |

the other teams players may have to go through waivers, but you can reassign them back to their correct team, with commissioner mode enabled. If you enable "no movement clause" for the players, they may not get waived (but this doesn't always seem to work from my experience) |

That was FHM10 though, I don't know if 11 still allows for that. Maybe the new coding to encourage AI teams to try and dump a player in a trade before waiving them figures into trying to avoid that circumstance. |
I know that this was supposed to have been corrected in a recent patch, but it doesn't seem to have been.
I have a player who cleared waivers in September on "waiver day", and now I have recalled him for a single game in March - but he has to clear waivers again. He wasn't on the NHL team for 30 days, nor 10 games. |
If he cleared in September and you recalled him in March, the 30-day limit would have passed and he'd need to be waived again if you sent him down. Or am I misunderstanding what you're describing?

It's not "30 days after clearing you have to re-clear waivers" in the NHL. It's "once you have cleared waivers, you have to be called up for 30 days before you have to re-clear again" (or play 10 games, but I know the game isn't trying to emulate that). So one should be able to call up a player for one game and then send him back because it's not been 30 days since he was called up before being sent down again. |
This is what the Hurricanes website states:

Is there any plan to finally get modern NHL waivers implemented correctly?
Puckpedia has info on how waivers work if there is still confusion. https://puckpedia.com/salary-cap/waivers |
